Anthology

Welcome to my mind in written form. I'm not a poet nor a writer; in fact I'm dyslexic, and find reading and writing difficult at the best of times (unless it's computer code!) Writing poetry has helped me to process things that have happen in my life, and say things that I'm unable to vocalise in my day to day. So, I post my writings here for purely selfish reasons, but I hope you find them enjoyable or helpful in some way.

Homelessness

A collection of five poems written towards the end a period of homelessness. From the darkest of times, unable to find any help, to the introduction to my "Guiding Light", and then on into a new home.

Lonely wolf, prowling through the night
Eyes aglow, heart full of spite
Searching for a love that's gone
A fleeting dream, a distant moan

His howls echo through the trees
Longing for his cub's warm breeze
Their playful paws, their curious stare
Now distant memories, beyond repair

His haunting cries, a mournful sigh
Echoing through the forest, wondering why
His mate's warmth, her loving gaze
Now but a memory, in endless days

He curls up tight, a hollowed space
Empty paws, a vacant place
His heart still heavy, his eyes still wet
A lonely wolf, in a quiet regret
A lone wolf roams, through forest dark
Far from home, a distant spark
His pack's warm laughter, now but a tale
As he prowls on, with a mournful wail

The moon above, a silver glow
Illuminates his solitary show
He pads through snow, with eyes so bright
Searching for a home, a guiding light

His heart still yearns, for familiar ground
The den's warm comfort, his pack's sound
But here he's alone, in this vast space
A lonely wolf, with a wandering pace

He seeks a den, a safe retreat
For him and his cubs, a place to meet
A sheltered haven, from wind and snow
A home to raise them, where they can grow
His loved home, in ashes lies
Family gone, sorrowful sighs
The wolf's heart heavy, his spirit worn
A desolate landscape, his future torn

He roams the wilderness, alone and cold
Mountains, and valleys to behold
He journeys on, through darkness and night
Searching for a den, a guiding light

A beacon that shines so bright
Guides the wolf, through endless night
Illuminating paths unknown
Leading somewhere, to call his own

At last, a cave, beneath the trees
A sheltered haven, where love can breathe
For him and his cubs, a safe place to rest
A new home found, where they can do best
Through mountains steep, and valleys wide
A wolf's long search, with his cubs in mind
He's roamed the wild, with a father's pride
Seeking a home, where they can safely reside

Through darkest night, a guiding light
Shines bright and true, on their weary sight
It leads the way, through the wilderness gray
Guiding the wolf, to a brighter day

At last, a cave, beneath the trees
A haven found, where love can breathe
For him and his cubs, a safe place to rest
A new home found, where they maybe blessed

In this warm den, they'll snuggle tight
Safe from the world, in the silent night
The wolf's heart full, with a love so true
A home at last, for him and his cubs anew
A cave, beneath the trees, a shelter deep
A home for the wolf and his cubs to sleep
Revealed to him by a guiding light
That shone through darkness, on a winter's night

But this is not the end, for the guiding light
Draws in other lights, from the dark forest's sight
Once hidden stars, now shine so bright
Illuminating paths, through the silent night

The guiding light's bright shine, the star's warm glow
Pave the way for dawn, the greatest light to show
For the wolf and his cubs, a new dawn's radiant beam
Brings life and promise, to their forest dream

The memories of darkness, of cold and of pain
Fade like the shadows, as dawn's warmth remains
Though forgotten never, they'll softly reside
A testament to the journey, the wolf and cubs have survived

Golden Days

A poem of thanks, for the existance of a few good friends, that truely care.

Golden days are fleeting, rare and bright
Moments of perfection, lost in time's flight
Like sun-kissed afternoons, that swiftly fade
Leaving memories, of warmth that's hard to shade

But special days are gifted, by those who truly care
Unexpected surprises, that show they're there
A gentle touch, a thoughtful deed
A moment's magic, that the heart can read

And friends can find us, across time and space
From different worlds, with a familiar face
Their minds align, with ours in sync
A bond that's formed, in a beautiful link

Those golden moments, and special few
Etched in our hearts, forever true
Never forgotten, always near
A treasured legacy, that remains crystal clear
